After being away at college for four years it is so nice to be back home with my parents and my little brother. Not only are there a lot more nice meals but I just feel happier and more content when I have people I love around me. I love evenings when everyone is home after a long day of going here and there and we all just sit on the couch or lay on the floor and chat. Just listening to everyone share stories is a calming way to end a day. Not that it happens very often, but it did tonight and making it even better my older brother and sister-in-law were here so the stories were more varied and more fun.
So even though my life isn't quite where I pictured it would be in the Fall of 2008, I always count myself lucky to have a functional family who loves and supports me and keeps believing in me even when I don't.

(This photo was taken last New Year's Day- all of us plus Grammy and my mom's friend Carol! Chinese food makes a great holiday meal btw! :)

Woo! I'm your first follower! AND I've never followed a blog before so that makes you MY first, too. I guess I unofficially follow a few, but this is fun. I think this new blog of yours is a good idea and way to find things to be thankful for. I'm one of three (all sisters), and I definitely agree with you on big families. I LOVE my family! Tons of cousins and aunts and uncles and animals, it's great! I can't imagine it any other way. And if God's okay with it, I think I'd like to have about four kids.
I'll be keeping an eye on this! Keep it up!
Wow that's exciting! I've never had or done either before! :) I'm glad you are enjoying my blog, I thought it would be a fun one, but as usual, I've got caught up in other things. I hope I won't disappoint my follower!
And I used to think I wanted 3-5 kids but now that I am a nanny for 5 kids I am thinking that maybe 2 will be enough! :)
